and the Daytona 500 NASCAR race (February), Bike Week (March), Pepsi 400
(July). The weather is ideal during the winter months, a popular time in
Daytona Beach.

Transportation
Public transportation is available, but you’ll need a car. Votran, the
public transit system, has instituted a free beach tram operating on a
section of beach where vehicles are not permitted. Vehicles can drive on
the beach at other marked locations during daylight hours.
In-Season Costs
February through August are the most expensive months in Daytona. Hotels
range from $70 to $200 per night in most areas.
Day Trips
St. Augustine, 65 miles to the north via I-95; Kennedy Space Center-
Spaceport, USA, 50 miles south, via I-95. Central Florida theme parks,
Orlando, 1 hour SW via I-4.
